On November 23, 2010, the Brazilian Embassy in Washington sponsors a seminar on Joaquim Nabuco.

Joaquim Nabuco was a leader of the abolitionist movement in Brazil, and later (1905) became Brazil’s first ambassador to the United States.  The Brazilian Embassy and the United States Library of Congress are sponsoring a seminar on Nabuco on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M.  The seminar will be held at the Library of Congress, Thomas Jefferson Building, Members Room, 10 First Street, SE, Washington, DC.  Admission is free, but attendees are requested to RSVP to cultural@brasilemb.org  Details are available here.
